Hobby Greenhouses

Hobby greenhouses are a private garden retreat that is protected from weather and the sounds of the street. They offer a place that is free from distractions and full of light and life. The amount and variety of plants grown is only limited by the size of the structure which can vary greatly from property to property. Some are small enough for only a few plants while some are over an acre.

A hobby greenhouse is easy to maintain and typically easy to set up. There are kits that are completely automated with hydroponics and ventilation systems that once set can keep things running and plants growing with very little effort. The goal is for the hobby to remain a hobby and although many greenhouses need a lot of work, these are much smaller and easier to maintain.

Building a hobby greenhouse is both rewarding and easy. Expect a small to mid sized structure to be built in a weekend not including lights, heaters, and ventilation. A hydroponic set up take a couple of days to get going but once it’s running the only thing that has to be monitored is the solution. This is often a bit more expensive but allows the plants to grow bigger with much less effort and is highly recommended even for the beginning gardener.
